Apron Feeder Model AFA-4*1.2
The Rockwell Crusher apron feeder is built for the toughest feeding conditions: very large, heavy rocks dumped directly from trucks onto the machine. Using a chain-driven belt of steel pans, it delivers material slowly and evenly to the crusher, with a capacity of 200 to 350 tons per hour.
Application
Receiving large, heavy rocks from trucks or loaders and feeding the primary crusher evenly. Suitable for mines with very coarse rock, or where the impact of dumping would damage vibrating feeders.
Made by Rockwell Crusher
This machine is fully designed and built in the Rockwell Crusher workshop in Shahr-e Qods. As a result, its spare parts are always available, and our technical team is there for you for installation, commissioning and after-sales service.
How Does an Apron Feeder Work?
- Rock dumped into the hopperA truck or loader dumps rock into the large hopper above the feeder.
- Conveying on steel pansThe bottom of the hopper is a belt of overlapping steel pans linked by chains that moves slowly forward.
- Feed rate controlThe belt speed is adjusted so the incoming rock exactly matches the crusher’s capacity.
- Crusher feedingAt the end of the belt, rock enters the primary crusher evenly.
Rockwell Crusher Apron Feeder Features
Controlled feed rate
The feed rate is controlled by adjusting the belt speed, so the crusher is neither starved nor overloaded.
Suitable for coarse, heavy material
Easily handles very large, heavy rocks and withstands the impact of dumping from trucks.
Steady, reliable feeding
The slow, continuous belt motion delivers a steady, reliable flow of material to the crusher.

Apron Feeder or Vibrating Feeder? Vibrating feeders, such as the horizontal feeder and grizzly feeder, also remove fines at the same time and suit most mines. With its slow motion and steel belt, the apron feeder is the more reliable choice for very large, heavy rocks and conditions with high dumping impact.
