Filter Press

The Rockwell Crusher filter press turns the mud and sludge discharged from the washing line into a solid, transportable cake and returns over 60% of its water to the cycle. With PLC control, automatic plate separation and both automatic and semi-automatic operating modes, it is the final link in a low-consumption, pond-free washing line.

Application

Dewatering mud and sludge from sand and gravel washing lines and recycling its water. The thickened sludge discharged from the bottom of the thickener enters the filter press; its water is separated and returned to the line, and the solids are discharged as a dry cake that is easy to move and stockpile.

Made by Rockwell Crusher

This machine is fully designed and built in the Rockwell Crusher workshop in Shahr-e Qods. As a result, its spare parts are always available, and our technical team is there for you for installation, commissioning and after-sales service.

How It Works

How Does a Filter Press Work?

  1. Plate closingA hydraulic ram presses the filter plates tightly together to form sealed chambers between them.
  2. Sludge pumpingThickened sludge (usually from the bottom of the thickener) is pumped into the chambers.
  3. Water separationWater passes through the filter cloths and returns to the washing line for reuse; the solids remain behind the cloths and form a cake.
  4. Opening and cake dischargeThe plates separate automatically and the dry cake drops out from between them; then the next cycle begins.
Features

Rockwell Crusher Filter Press Features

Over 60% water recovery

Returns more than 60% of the water contained in mud and sludge to the washing line cycle.

PLC control

Smart PLC control of each operating stage for precise, consistent performance.

Automatic plate separation

Plates open and separate automatically for fast cake discharge, with minimal manual labor.

Automatic and semi-automatic operation

Choose between automatic and semi-automatic operation to suit the conditions and workforce of each site.

Dry, transportable cake

Turns liquid sludge into a solid cake that is easy to load, move and stockpile.

No sludge ponds

Eliminates sludge ponds and pools for a cleaner site that meets environmental requirements.

Thickener or Filter Press? The two machines complement each other. The thickener recovers most of the water and delivers thickened sludge; the filter press dewaters that sludge and returns the remaining water as well. The result is a washing line with minimal water consumption and no sludge ponds — a major advantage in water-scarce regions.
